Paneer Masala Recipe
Ingredients
Paneer – 200 to 250 g (cubed)
Onions – 2 medium (finely chopped)
Tomatoes – 2 medium (pureed or finely chopped)
Ginger–Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
Green Chillies – 1–2
Oil or Ghee – 2 tbsp
Turmeric – ½ tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tbsp
Cumin Powder – ½ tsp
Garam Masala – ½ tsp
Salt – as per taste
Fresh Cream – 2 tbsp (optional)
Water – as needed
Coriander Leaves – for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the paneer
Cut paneer into cubes.
(Optional) Lightly fry the paneer pieces for a minute — makes them tastier.
2. Cook onions
Heat oil or ghee in a pan.
Add chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
3. Add ginger–garlic paste
Add the ginger–garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute.
4. Add tomatoes
Add tomato puree/chopped tomatoes.
Cook until the mixture becomes soft and oil starts to separate.
5. Add the spices
Add turmeric, red chilli, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt.
Cook for 2–3 minutes.
6. Add water
Add ½ to 1 cup water depending on the gravy thickness you want.
Mix well and simmer for 3 minutes.
7. Add paneer
Add paneer cubes and stir gently.
Cover and cook for 3–5 minutes on low flame.
8. Add cream (optional)
Add 2 tbsp fresh cream for a rich, creamy taste.
9. Garnish
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serving
Serve hot with:
