Mutton Masala Recipe
Ingredients
Mutton – 500 g
Onions – 2 large (finely chopped)
Tomatoes – 2 medium (chopped)
Ginger–Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp
Oil – 3 tbsp
Curd (optional) – 2 tbsp
Green Chillies – 2
Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tbsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tbsp
Garam Masala – 1 tsp
Mutton Masala Powder (optional) – 1 tbsp
Salt – as per taste
Fresh Coriander – for garnish
Water – as needed
Instructions
1. Heat the oil
Heat oil in a pan or cooker.
Add chopped onions and fry until golden brown.
2. Add ginger–garlic paste
Add ginger–garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell goes away.
3. Add tomatoes
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft and mushy.
4. Add spices
Add turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
Cook for 2–3 minutes.
5. Add mutton
Add mutton pieces and mix well so they coat with the masala.
Cook for 5–7 minutes on medium flame.
6. Add curd (optional)
Add curd for richer gravy and mix well.
7. Add water
Add 1 to 1.5 cups water depending on how much gravy you want.
8. Pressure cook
Close the cooker lid.
Cook on medium flame for 5–6 whistles (or until mutton becomes soft).
9. Reduce gravy
Open the lid and let the gravy thicken to your desired consistency.
10. Garnish
Add chopped coriander leaves and mix.
Serving
Serve hot with:
